Larksfield Place Assisted Living goes to the Capitol
Kansas is set to celebrate a significant milestone for its assisted living communities. This year, Governor Laura Kelly signed an official proclamation on August 30th, designating the dates of National Assisted Living Week as Kansas Assisted Living Week. Traditionally, National Assisted Living Week begins on the Sunday following Labor Day and runs through Saturday. This year, the celebration will take place from September 8th to 14th.
National Assisted Living Week provides an opportunity to honor the individuals who reside in assisted living communities, as well as the staff who deliver compassionate care every day. With Governor Kelly’s proclamation, Kansas will shine a spotlight on the importance of assisted living and the vital role these communities play in enhancing the quality of life for seniors across the state. This proclamation underscores the commitment of our state to supporting the well-being and dignity of our aging population.
“Writing the proclamation and advocating for the awareness of all Kansas Assisted Living Communities was an honor. There are so many aging Kansans who are not aware of what Assisted Living communities are and how they can bring them an even higher quality of life throughout the aging process. Being a voice and raising awareness is the first step in providing resources to the aging population.” -Jess Easterwood, Executive Director of Assisted Living at Larksfield Place
