April 30, 2025, Wichita, KS – Larksfield Place, a premier retirement community, is excited to announce the construction of its new Center for Life Enrichment. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to be a beacon of light within our community, focused on enriching the lives of our community and our residents through the four essential pillars of life enrichment: physical, social, intellectual, and peace and fulfillment.
The Center was intentionally crafted in collaboration with our community, residents, and staff to ensure every detail serves a purpose. Each element of the design reflects our commitment to creating a space that fosters growth, connection, and well-being. Our goal is to provide not only a haven for our residents but also a place where an intergenerational community can thrive, but will also open doors to new opportunities and connections within the larger Wichita community. We look forward to seeing how it will positively impact lives for years to come.
This $20 million project is being funded through the fundraising efforts of Larksfield Place Foundation, and we are honored to announce that we have already received a generous $5 million seed gift from Charles R. and Joan N. Clark. Their incredible generosity and visionary support have helped lay the foundation for this transformative project, and we are deeply appreciative of their commitment to our community. In recognition of their outstanding contribution and unwavering passion for this mission, we are proud to name the facility the Charles R. and Joan N. Clark Center for Life Enrichment.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and shared vision of Chuck and Joan Clark, whose support of our mission is truly inspiring,” said Mike Hambley, CEO, at Larksfield Place. “This Center will be truly one of its kind, with nothing else like it in the nation. It will foster a community centered around the innovation of aging well, continuing the important work of our founders. We are both excited and proud to bring this groundbreaking vision to the Wichita area, where it will serve and enrich our community for years to come.”
As we move forward with this exciting project, we invite the Wichita community to stay engaged and follow our progress. The Charles R. and Joan N. Clark Center for Life Enrichment will serve as a cornerstone for promoting wellness, engagement, and connection, with a focus on fostering lifelong growth and a sense of purpose.
