Larksfield Place breaks ground for new addition, Larksfield Landing
On Monday, January 5th, 2026, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at Larksfield Place to celebrate the beginning of construction of our new addition, Larksfield Landing. Among those joining us were Wichita Mayor Lily Wu, Architect Paul Folger and our partners at Shelden Architecture, Larksfield Board of Directors Chair Connie Dietz, our partners at Dondlinger Construction and Ziegler Capital Investments and our Charter Members (future residents of the new addition.) Larksfield Place’s Resident Council joined them in putting shovels to the ground as well.
We celebrated afterward with charcuterie, a champagne toast and comments from Mayor Wu, Connie Dietz, Larksfield CEO Mike Hambley, VP of Sales Tammy Flaming and CFO/CSO Michael Griffin. For us, this is not only celebrating the new construction – it’s also celebrating the joy and excitement we all share at about our future here at Larksfield Place.
Larksfield Landing will be a four-story, 48-apartment Independent Living building connected to our present Independent Living facility and featuring under-building enclosed parking, spacious deluxe living and a landscaped courtyard. At this point, Larksfield has presold 37 of the 48 new apartments.
